It all began in 1897 when the land on which the Pereyra Theatre stands today was put up for auction. The main objective of this space was to create a publicly accessible theatre. And so it was. On 6 April 1899 it was inaugurated and, 125 years later, the Teatro Pereyra offers between 150 and 200 events a year<\/strong>, including concerts, plays and other cultural shows. <\/p>

Throughout its history it has hosted various events: <\/p>

  • In 1912 the theatre was the venue for the Agricultural Congress, which was a complete success.<\/li><\/ul>

    However, in 1987 the main hall of the theatre ceased<\/strong> its activities, keeping its Caf\u00e9 Pereyra open until 2018.<\/p>

    In 2006 everything began to change thanks to the fact that it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and in 2010 work began on its remodelling, finding archaeological remains<\/strong> under the floor of the Theatre, which belong to a Roman settlement.<\/p>

    In 2024 it was reborn, like a phoenix, attracting a large number of local <\/strong> and international artists, especially in genres such as jazz, flamenco, rock and soul.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
